According to Vereeniging police spokesperson Captain Fikile Funda, the lady was busy with her laundry when the two suspects arrived deliberately showing a firearm.

“It is alleged that the two men pushed the woman into the house, put her on the table and raped her. They shot her on the hand and thigh.”

Funda stated that that the men took an undisclosed amount of cash, televisions, jewellery and other items in the house before fleeing the scene. Funda also confirmed that police are investigating a house robbery case docket.

The victim was hospitalised after the incident. Members of the community are urged to report all forms of crime to the crime stop number on 0800 10111.
